We are more than happy to try to help you find genealogical information through St. Francis D'Assisi and St. Hedwig records. These are private church records, only Parish Staff are able to look up this information. We do not provide photo copies of the records nor do we display them to any visitors. If you have a request, please send in a letter via the U.S. Postal Service to our parish office with all of the information that you are requesting us to confirm. Be aware that genealogical requests are not a priority and may take a while for us to be able to look up the information and get back to you, so please be patient. Call the Parish Office at (313) 894-5409 for any more questions. Requests via email are not currently being accepted. Sacramental records from 1944 and earlier are available for public viewing, via Microfilm at the Detroit Public Library-Burton Historical Collection.
Currently we are in the process of Digitizing our Records for Parish use and Restoring our Record Books. These records are not going to be made public but rather will help speed up the process of finding names and protecting the record books. The original record books have gone through quite a bit of use so it is important to restore and protect them. Feel free to submit your request but be aware that we will not be able to do any research until this process is complete for both Churches Record Books. Thank you for understanding!

There are cases where the spelling of names has changed and therefore we need accurate dates in order to find the information. Requests for information for Family Trees is only is only given if the parish staff has the time to do the research to find the information requested. Their daily work must come first. Also, requests by phone or e-mail will not be considered. |
